M2030 is a next-generation waist-high swing-gate smart turnstile for transport infrastructure, with no direct equivalents in the Russian or international markets. It was designed specifically for the Moscow transport network, including the Moscow Metro, Moscow Central Circle (MCC), Moscow Central Diameters (MCD), and commuter rail services.

The design incorporates advanced user interaction features, including visual payment status indication, vibration feedback confirming passage, and reversible operation, allowing the entry/exit direction to be changed quickly depending on current station traffic.

The smart turnstile support all currently available fare payment methods, including the virtual Troika card, the Faster Payments System (FPS), and biometric identification. The equipment is designed to support the continued development of biometric services across Moscow’s transport network.

Thanks to their improved design, the new devices can increase passenger throughput at metro stations by up to 40%. These innovations have never been implemented anywhere else in the world and may become a future industry standard, as well as a hallmark of Moscow’s technologically advanced transport system.

COMPARED WITH A CONVENTIONAL TURNSTILE, THE M2030 SMART TURNSTILE OFFERS A NUMBER OF ADVANTAGES:

  • It is a fully functional IP device with all components — including the controller, reader, software, and biometric cameras — integrated at the factory. Reliable, user-friendly, and aesthetically refined. This approach ensures full compatibility between all system components.
  • Support for all modern fare payment methods: bank and transport cards, including Troika, virtual cards, NFC, QR codes, the Faster Payments System (FPS), and Face Pay.

  • Increased throughput: the turnstile housing is only 125 mm wide, allowing more turnstiles to be installed within a single station concourse and increasing passenger throughput by up to 40%.
  • Vibration feedback upon payment: an accessibility feature for visually impaired passengers. When payment is successful, the turnstile generates a vibration signal confirming that passage is permitted. This helps passengers proceed without relying on visual confirmation.

  • An illuminated floor projection clearly marks the Face Pay detection zone, showing passengers exactly where to stop to pay using Face Pay.

  • IoT capabilities: the turnstile can be connected to various monitoring and diagnostic systems.

  • Reversible operation allows passenger flow to be redirected in either direction as needed, depending on station demand. This helps increase station throughput during periods of peak passenger traffic.

  • An increased number of passage sensors enables more accurate detection of a passenger’s position within the lane, identifies the presence of luggage, and prevents premature gate closure. The turnstile gates close quickly but safely, without causing injury.

  • Bright payment status indicators along the turnstile housing show whether a transaction has been completed successfully, help metro staff visually monitor fare payments, and enable them to respond quickly to attempted fare evasion.

  • The modular design enables quick changes to the turnstile’s functionality without replacing the unit or carrying out extensive engineering work. It also simplifies maintenance and repairs.


    Complies with transport security requirements established by the Russian Government Resolution No. 969 dated September 26, 2016, and can be used for implementing access control systems at transport infrastructure facilities.
