Moscow Transport Certification Center

The Certification Center of the Corporate University of the Moscow Transport Complex is a specialized facility for conducting in-person certification of passenger taxi drivers. Since March 1, 2025, certification has been mandatory for taxi drivers operating in Moscow and the Moscow Region. The center manages the certification process and is designed to accommodate a high volume of candidates.

The Certification Center required automated access control equipment for its entrance area, with the capability to verify users’ identities using biometric data.

Infomatika was tasked with the following objectives:

• Provide automated access control at the Certification Center;
• Enable user identification at the entrance using the Moscow Metro’s existing biometric system.

Infomatika equipped the Certification Center’s entrance area with its proprietary Pilot swing-gate smart turnstiles and integrated them with the biometric system.

Key Project Components:

• Pilot Smart Turnstiles. The Pilot series features a compact design, making it particularly suitable for facilities with limited space, such as professional training and certification centers. The turnstiles are equipped with color displays featuring large text for clear access status indication. A servo-driven mechanism ensures smooth and quiet gate operation, while presence sensors prevent the gates from closing when a user is in the passage area. The turnstiles support both automatic and manual opening modes, including emergency operation and access in the event of a power outage.

Integrations

One of the key aspects of the project was integration with the Moscow Metro biometric system, enabling fast user identity verification through facial recognition. This helped streamline the registration and access process while providing an additional level of security and convenience for visitors to the Certification Center.

Scope of Work:

• Manufacturing, delivery, and installation of Pilot smart turnstiles — 4 lanes (5 units);

• Integration with the Moscow Metro biometric system;

• Equipment commissioning.
