On August 30, 2022, the Bashir Rameev IT Park, a new high-tech technology park, opened in Kazan. It brings together startups, IT companies, young creative talent, and representatives of investment funds from Russia and neighboring countries. The technology park also features a Children’s IT Park and a 1,100 m² esports arena — the largest in the Volga region and the second largest in Russia.

The IT Park’s concept as a hub for new ideas and advanced technologies shaped the approach to access control. The system had to match the facility’s digital environment by providing paperless and cardless identification for employees and visitors, supporting virtual passes on smartphones, and automating visitor access.


Infomatika was tasked with the following objectives:

  • Implement a multi-level access control system at the IT Park’s entrance areas and within its internal premises;

  • Enable staff and visitors to access the premises using virtual passes without the need for physical access cards;

  • Enable user identification via QR codes, BLE and NFC tags, as well as facial recognition;

  • Provide differentiated access to internal areas for different user categories;
  • Automate the issuance and approval of single-use visitor passes;

  • Integrate the equipment with the security and fire alarm system to enable emergency evacuation procedures.

Infomatika specialists equipped the IT Park with a multi-level access control system based on paperless and cardless technology. All digital credentials for staff and visitors are stored on their smartphones. No physical access cards are required to enter the premises — users simply need a dedicated mobile app. The app enables users to obtain permanent and single-use passes, book meeting rooms, and pay for coworking services, allowing visitors to interact with the facility entirely online.

To manage visitor access, Infomatika implemented its proprietary Visitor Management System (VMS), integrated with the IT Park’s mobile app and website. The system covers both the building’s main entry points and access to internal areas.


Key Project Components:

  • Contour Bio Smart Turnstiles. Installed at the IT Park’s main entrance areas, the turnstiles feature built-in 5-inch color displays, QR code, BLE and NFC readers, and IP cameras for facial recognition. The equipment enables automated entry to the building using virtual passes. The smart turnstiles can be integrated at the software level with security and other information systems, including simultaneous integration with multiple systems.
  • Concept Automatic Gates. Installed at the IT Park’s main entrance areas, the gates operate as part of the integrated visitor access control system.
  • Multi-Technology Readers. Installed on doors throughout the IT Park, these readers complement the access control system at the main entrances by providing access zoning and passage control. Developed as a joint solution with ESMART®, the readers incorporate an Infomatika controller and QR code scanner. The devices operate simultaneously with two systems: the access control system, enabling residents to enter using BLE/NFC credentials on their smartphones, and the Visitor Management System (VMS), enabling guests to enter using QR codes. Virtual credentials can be read by holding a smartphone near the device or, with BLE, in hands-free mode from up to 10 meters away—even when the phone is in a pocket. LED indicators show whether access is granted or denied for both permanent and visitor passes.
  • Visitor Management System (VMS). Infomatika’s proprietary solution is integrated into the IT Park’s mobile app and website. A visitor request can be submitted either by the visitor or by an employee of the organization inviting them. Once the request is submitted, a QR code is generated, and its status is displayed on the user’s smartphone. Security personnel only need to approve the request online. Until approved, the pass remains invalid, and a corresponding message is displayed on the turnstile screen. Once access has been approved, the visitor simply presents the QR code on their smartphone to the turnstile scanner or to a multi-technology wall-mounted reader at an authorized door.


      Key Features of the Implemented Solution

      Mobile identification enables virtual access cards to be issued remotely, including via email or other communication channels, allowing users to use their smartphones instead of physical access cards. Since users typically keep their smartphones with them and are far less likely to share them with others, this approach reduces the risk of unauthorized credential use for access control or time and attendance tracking.

      To support emergency evacuation procedures, the turnstiles are integrated with the security and fire alarm system.

      Access control automation based on Infomatika’s integrated hardware and software solution offers extensive integration capabilities for adding new services, reduces the workload on security and reception staff, lowers administrative and technical personnel costs, and enhances security and oversight across all visitor categories. It also improves the speed and quality of service, reinforces the IT Park’s innovative image, and minimizes human error.





      The project included:

      - Detailed design and engineering;

      - Manufacturing, delivery, and installation of Contour Bio swing-gate smart turnstiles — 18 lanes (28 units);                                                                                    

      - Manufacturing, delivery, and installation of Concept automatic gates — 15 units;

      - Equipping entrance doors with combined QR code readers with integrated controllers — 60 units;

      - Implementation and integration of the Visitor Management System (VMS) into the IT Park’s mobile app;

      - Commissioning and system setup.
