Letovo Junior School, Moscow

Letovo Junior School, Moscow

Equipping an educational institution with smart access control turnstiles featuring biometric identification in full compliance with Federal Law No. 572-FZ. Integration with the RUBEZH STRAZH access control system.

Implemented in 2025.

In 2025, the new Letovo Junior campus opened in Moscow, offering a modern learning environment for students in Grades 1–9. Designed to accommodate 960 students, the campus features state-of-the-art classrooms, science laboratories, a robotics centre, a recording studio, sports facilities and flexible multi-purpose spaces.

The project is part of the Letovo School ecosystem. Letovo holds International Baccalaureate (IB) accreditation and is recognised as one of Russia’s leading private schools for academic achievement and infrastructure.

The customer required a modern and reliable entrance control solution for the new campus that would meet stringent security requirements while complementing the building’s architectural concept.

Solution

Infomatika equipped the school’s new campus with a modern access control system.

The installed smart turnstiles, integrated with a facial recognition system, became Russia’s first solution for educational institutions to fully comply with the requirements of Federal Law No. 572-FZ of 29 December 2022 “On Biometrics.”

The law permits biometric data to be processed only through the Unified Biometric System or accredited commercial biometric systems. This project uses Sber’s Commercial Biometric System (CBS), operated by Russia’s largest accredited biometric data operator.

The project’s technology partner was Speech Technology Center (STC), an expert in speech technologies and facial and voice biometrics.

Half-height swing-gate Contour Bio smart turnstiles and Concept DUO automatic gates for visitors with reduced mobility were installed at the security checkpoint in front of the building’s main entrance.

The smart turnstiles were equipped with Vizir ACS biometric terminals developed by the STC Group. Featuring facial recognition technology, the terminals support two identification methods: facial biometrics and access cards.

Concept DUO automatic gates were installed at the reception area to provide access for school staff. Operated from the security station, the gates enable flexible management of pedestrian flows. The equipment is integrated with the RUBEZH STRAZH access control system.

As the upper section of the turnstile is made of tempered glass, installing the terminals and routing the cables required a carefully engineered solution. Infomatika’s specialists developed a custom metal mounting structure that enabled the biometric terminal to be integrated into the turnstile without compromising the glass and while preserving the equipment’s aesthetic appearance.

This is the first educational facility in Russia to implement a biometric access control system in full compliance with Federal Law No. 572-FZ of 29 December 2022 “On Biometrics.”
