Kazan International Airport is the largest aviation hub in the Republic of Tatarstan, serving over 5 million passengers annually, providing flights to more than 50 destinations within the country and abroad. It is one of the TOP 20 airports in the country in terms of passenger traffic.

The customer needed to arrange a controlled entrance to Terminal No. 2 (VIP lounge and high-comfort lounge), ensuring:

• automated admission of passengers on boarding passes;

• compliance with transport safety requirements;

• correct operation within the framework of the current airport system;

• high throughput without staff involvement at the entrance.

To solve these tasks, Infomatika has equipped the two entrance groups of the terminal with Flagman Lite Aero smart turnstiles.

The Flagship Light Aero series smart turnstiles are designed for use at airports and provide automated access control for boarding passes. The devices are equipped with boarding pass scanners, barcode readers, and MIFARE cards to handle various access scenarios.

To control the opening time of the passenger doors, IR passage sensors are integrated into the turnstile design, located on two levels — upper and lower. Interaction with passengers is realized through a 10-inch display and a marketing indication showing the passage status and service information.

The equipment is integrated into the airport's IT infrastructure, ensuring the correct operation of passenger access within the internal system.

To organize the direction of passenger flows, a mechanical gate fence system has been installed at the facility, made in the same style with smart turnstiles. The project was implemented by Infomatika specialists from the supply of equipment and integration to installation and commissioning at the facility.
