The Kazan Expo International Exhibition Center is one of the largest exhibition complexes in Russia, built for the WorldSkills Kazan 2019 World Championship in professional skills. The 74.8-hectare complex is designed to host international and national exhibitions, congresses, forums and other large-scale events.

A special feature of the facility is the high passability of people and the need for flexible organization of access areas in conditions of regularly changing expositions.

To ensure reliable access control and simplify visitor registration processes, Infomatics implemented a comprehensive center equipment with the Lenta-Expo automated control system, which fully automated the following processes:

  • verification and access control;

  • ticket sales for events;
  • registration of accreditation;

The Lenta-Accreditation automated control system allows you to create unique badges and passes for participants and guests of events. It is possible to apply via the website, mobile application or self-service terminal. The functionality of the system includes: the establishment of events, the formation of unique badges, a two-factor method of coordination and the possibility of integration with other accreditation systems, etc.

Application submission and approval via the website can be tested.

System Features:

  • The ability to connect external agents if the customer uses a different registration system. In this case, the Lenta-Expo TAS works as an access control system with instant aisle reporting.

  • Connecting external sites via a widget with a full–fledged accreditation function - enabling a questionnaire with customizable fields, etc. The information is saved in a separate report in the site's database with the ability to export.

To expand the functionality of the system, Infomatika specialists have implemented the Lenta automated control system ticket and access control module at the facility. The largest concert hall in the Volga region is located on the territory of the complex. Ilgama Shakirov has an area of 4,156 m2 and a capacity of 3,000 people. The integration of the ticket access module made it possible to organize ticket sales, provide access control services, and interact with ticket operators.

Access control for accredited visitors to the Kazan Expo IEC is carried out using high-tech smart turnstiles of the Resonance series. The turnstiles are equipped with barcode/QR code scanners, contactless card readers, interactive screens and IP cameras connected directly to the facial recognition system, which is integrated with the accreditation system. This makes it possible, if necessary, to easily change the software solutions of recognition systems without additional retrofitting and replacement of equipment. Thanks to a special mobile platform, smart turnstiles can assemble in a row and organize temporary access zones in the shortest possible time and anywhere in the exhibition complex.

Access control through smart turnstiles is implemented using two-factor biometric identification, which ensures maximum security and excludes the transfer of passes to third parties. The process goes as follows:

  1. Verification of accreditation. First, the system reads the visitor's ID (card, QR code).

  2. Biometric verification. Next, the turnstile checks the visitor's face with his biometric model stored in the system.

If both checks are successful, access is allowed. Thus, passage through the turnstile is possible only for the pass holder, which excludes the transfer of the accreditation badge to third parties. Verification of a person becomes mandatory for all situations when it is impossible to transfer a pass, badge or ticket to another person.

In 2025, Infomatika Company retrofitted the Kazan Expo IEC with new generation smart turnstiles called Resonance RT. Nine passageways are installed on one of the entrance groups of the complex.

The stainless steel and tempered glass turnstiles are equipped with three-level sensors for monitoring the passage area and the "anti-panic" function. 10.1” information two-way TFT displays, placed on a separate rack, display the status of the passage, notifications and reasons for access denial. The equipment functions as part of the accreditation system and provides access to both the card/QR code and the accreditation badge. A mobile pallet with extendable wheels allows you to install turnstiles without fixing to the floor and quickly change the configuration of the passage area.
