Lokomotiv Arena Regional Volleyball Center is a sports complex in Novosibirsk, built under the regional Sport Is a Way of Life project, part of the national Demography project. Its competition and training arenas accommodate more than 5,000 spectators. The complex hosts Russian and international competitions, professional team training, and cultural and public events. In 2020, the facility was placed under the operational management of the Volleyball Sports School and named Lokomotiv Arena.

The new sports complex required a unified ticketing and access control infrastructure for the arena and Lokomotiv Novosibirsk Volleyball Club to automate services for spectators and event participants.

Infomatika was responsible for the following tasks:

  • Automate the sale and accounting of tickets and season passes;
  • Provide spectator access control at entrance areas;
  • Enable online sales of tickets and season passes;
  • Implement an accreditation system;
  • Enable visitor identification using facial recognition;
  • Provide mobile ticket validation;
  • Integrate the ticketing and access control system with external ticketing agents, the CRM system, and the Russian Volleyball Federation’s information systems;
  • Install the required server infrastructure and staff workstations.

Infomatika equipped Lokomotiv Arena with the LENTA-Sport automated ticketing and access control system, carrying out comprehensive automation of ticket sales and access control processes.

Key Project Components

  • LENTA-Sport Automated Ticketing and Access Control System. Provides the foundation for the sports complex’s and Lokomotiv Novosibirsk Volleyball Club’s ticketing infrastructure. The system automates ticket and season pass sales and accounting and validates them as spectators enter the venue.
  • Accreditation System. Manages the issuance and registration of accreditations for event participants and other accredited personnel.
  • Horizon Waist-Height Smart Turnstiles. Installed at entrance areas for automated spectator access control. The turnstiles feature purpose-built interactive enclosures with integrated cameras connected to the Vizir video identification system, enabling facial recognition at entry.
  • Navigare Waist-Height Gates. Two automatic gates provide access for visitors with reduced mobility.
  • Lenta-TSD Mobile Ticket Validation Terminals. Used by stewards to validate tickets away from fixed access points and provide additional spectator access control in different areas of the sports complex.
  • Online Ticket Store. Developed and launched on Lokomotiv Volleyball Club’s website to sell event tickets and season passes online.

Integration

The LENTA-Sport automated ticketing and access control system is integrated with external ticketing agents and the sports complex’s CRM system. This enables the exchange of ticket data and statuses between systems and supports multiple sales channels within a unified ticketing infrastructure.

An integration gateway connects the system with the Vizir facial recognition system. The ticketing and access control system is also integrated with the Russian Volleyball Federation’s information systems.

System Management Infrastructure

Server infrastructure was installed to support the ticketing and access control system. Automated workstations were set up for cashiers, the manager-administrator, security personnel, and the video identification system operator.
