The Sports Palace is one of Kazan’s oldest sports venues. For many years, its ice arena hosted Ak Bars Hockey Club’s home games in the Russian Championship. The complex features two ice rinks: a main arena for sporting and entertainment events and a training rink offering public skating sessions throughout the year.
In 2008, preparations for the World Junior Under-18 Ice Hockey Championship required an upgrade of the Sports Palace’s ticketing and access control infrastructure. The project covered automated ticketing and access control for the main arena, along with ticket sales for public skating sessions.
The project included the design and manufacture of controllers, turnstiles, and barrier gates, as well as the design, manufacture, and installation of ticket readers. A server node and staff workstations were provided to support ticketing operations.
