Solidarnost Samara Arena
Comprehensive equipment of the Samara Arena stadium with the LENTA ACS ticket system and the spectator access control system (SACS) in preparation for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Implemented in 2018.
Solidarnost Samara Arena is a 45,000-seat football stadium built specifically for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. During the tournament, it hosted six matches: four group-stage games, a round-of-16 match, and a quarter-final. Today, the stadium is the home ground of FC Krylia Sovetov.
Preparations for the World Cup required a ticketing and access control infrastructure that met FIFA requirements and controlled access for spectators, participants, and accredited personnel during tournament matches.
Infomatika was responsible for the following tasks:
- Automate ticket sales and spectator access control;
- Adapt LENTA software to FIFA requirements;
- Enable integration with FIFA’s ticketing and accreditation systems and the 2018 World Cup Fan ID system;
- Equip entrance areas to control access for different visitor categories;
- Enable mobile ticket validation and support ticket resolution teams;
- Set up automated workstations for cashiers, managers, accreditation personnel, and the stadium control center;
- Enable FC Krylia Sovetov to continue using the ticketing system after the World Cup.
As part of preparations for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, Infomatika equipped Samara Arena, the home ground of FC Krylia Sovetov, with a modern ticketing and access control system and a spectator access control system.
Key Project Components
- LENTA Automated Ticketing and Access Control System. Automates ticketing processes and validates tickets as spectators enter the stadium. Following the World Cup, the system became the foundation of FC Krylia Sovetov’s ticketing infrastructure.
- Waist-Height Smart Turnstiles. Installed at entrance areas for automated ticket validation and controlled spectator entry.
- Full-Height Smart Turnstiles. Form part of the spectator access control system’s outer perimeter, providing controlled access to the stadium grounds.
- Automatic Gates. Provide controlled access for visitors with reduced mobility.
- LENTA-Linea Pro NFC Mobile Ticket Validation Terminals. Used by ticket resolution teams to validate tickets and assist visitors away from fixed access points.
Integration
Integration buses were developed and implemented to connect LENTA with the ticketing operator, FIFA’s accreditation system, and the 2018 World Cup Fan ID system, enabling the spectator access control system to operate within the World Cup infrastructure.
Additional integration solutions enabled the stadium to work with external ticketing operators in post-tournament legacy mode.
System Management Infrastructure
Automated workstations were set up for cashiers, managers, accreditation personnel, and the stadium control center to operate the ticketing and access control system.
Infomatika served as a contractor to FIFA Ticketing for the implementation of access control systems at the 2018 World Cup stadiums, carrying out full system preparation and providing technical support throughout the tournament.
The stadium hosted six 2018 World Cup matches: four group-stage games, a round-of-16 match, and a quarter-final. Fans from Russia, Uruguay, Denmark, Australia, Costa Rica, Serbia, Senegal, Colombia, Brazil, Mexico, Sweden, and England supported their national teams from the stands of the new 45,000-seat stadium.
On World Cup match days, Infomatika engineers were present at the stadium to provide technical support for the access control system.
