"Saint Petersburg" volleyball centre, Kazan

Comprehensive equipment of the sports complex with LENTA ticketing system.

Implemented in 2013

Saint Petersburg Volleyball Center is an indoor multifunctional sports arena in Kazan and the home venue of Zenit and Dynamo Kazan volleyball clubs. It hosted Volleyball Champions League matches in 2011–2012 and volleyball competitions during the 2013 Summer Universiade. The complex covers more than 13,000 square meters, with a 5,000-seat main arena and a 700-seat secondary arena.

Preparations for the 2013 Summer Universiade required a modern ticketing and access control system to automate ticket sales and manage spectator access using the existing turnstile infrastructure.

Infomatika was responsible for the following tasks:

  • Automate the sports complex’s ticketing processes;
  • Provide spectator access control using the existing KABA turnstiles;
  • Set up automated workstations for cashiers and security personnel;
  • Enable online ticket sales for Zenit and Dynamo Kazan volleyball club events.
Infomatika implemented the LENTA automated ticketing and access control system at the venue. To integrate it with the existing infrastructure, nine installed KABA turnstiles were retrofitted with Infomatika-manufactured readers.

Key Project Components

  • LENTA Automated Ticketing and Access Control System. Automates ticketing processes and provides spectator access control for sporting events.
  • Infomatika-Manufactured Readers. Installed on the existing KABA turnstiles, enabling the venue to retain its turnstile equipment within the LENTA system.
  • Online Ticket Store. Developed and launched to sell tickets online for Zenit and Dynamo Kazan volleyball club events.

System Management Infrastructure

Three automated staff workstations were set up to operate the ticketing and access control system: 2 cashier workstations and 1 security workstation.

Scope of Supply:

  • Implementation of the LENTA automated ticketing and access control system;
  • Retrofitting existing KABA turnstiles with Infomatika-manufactured readers — 9 units;
  • Setup of automated staff workstations: 2 cashier workstations and 1 security workstation;
  • Development and launch of an online ticket store for Zenit and Dynamo Kazan volleyball clubs.

Project Expansion in 2014

Since 2014, the Volleyball Center has housed Sunny Fit, a fitness club comprising a gym and two group exercise studios. The club receives an average of 100–150 visitors per day.

LENTA’s functionality was used to automate fitness membership management. Two cashier workstations were equipped with contactless readers, enabling membership validation directly at the workstation, and one manager workstation was set up. Contactless MIFARE membership cards serve as access credentials.
