Phygital Center, Kemerovo
Equipping the Phygital Center with a high-tech access control system based on Concept smart turnstiles.
The world’s first Phygital Center, with a total area of 1,260 m², opened in 2022 at the Kuzbass Arena multifunctional sports complex in Kemerovo. This unique sports facility combines a digital gaming area, where visitors can compete in various esports disciplines, with an outdoor zone featuring a range of sports facilities. All areas of the center are connected through a unified gamification system that enables users to track their results and book sports and gaming areas.
Infomatika was tasked with the following objectives:
- Implement automated visitor access control at the Phygital Center;
- Ensure efficient access for high visitor volumes within the limited space of the entrance area;
- Enable multiple identification methods for regular visitors without requiring physical access cards;
- Automate the issuance and approval of visitor passes for guests who are not registered in the permanent user database;
- Ensure integration of the Visitor Management System (VMS) with the facility’s main access control system;
- Provide accessible entry for visitors with reduced mobility and support emergency evacuation procedures.
Infomatika specialists equipped the Phygital Center’s entrance area with smart access control equipment based on Concept Gate automatic gates and implemented the Visitor Management System (VMS). The solution enables automated access for both regular visitors and guests using multiple identification methods.
For regular visitors, the access control system is integrated with the Phygital Center’s mobile app. Each athlete creates a personal account in the app, where an individual rating is generated based on their digital and physical activity at the facility. User data — including full name and photograph — is used by the access control system for multi-factor identification, enabling cardless access via smartphone or facial recognition.
Key Project Components:
- Concept Gate Smart Gates. Waist-high automatic smart gates with a servo-driven mechanism, providing automated visitor access control. The equipment made it possible to efficiently handle high visitor volumes within the limited space of the entrance area.
- Visitor Management System (VMS). Provides access for visitors who are not registered in the permanent user database. The system enables visitor pass requests to be created and approved. Once approved, the pass is sent to the visitor’s smartphone as a QR code and used to access the facility.
- Half-Height Fencing for ACS and Mechanical Gates. Complement the entrance area equipment. The mechanical gates provide an emergency evacuation route and accessible passage for visitors with reduced mobility.
System Management Infrastructure
The Visitor Management System (VMS) operates alongside the facility’s main access control system: rather than replacing the existing system, it complements and extends its capabilities. The combination of smart access control equipment and the VMS automates visitor access, reduces the impact of human error, and enhances overall security.
Regular visitors can enter without a physical access card, using either their smartphone or facial recognition based on the data stored in their personal account in the Phygital Center’s mobile app. Visitors who are not registered in the permanent user database use a separate guest access process based on a QR code generated by the Visitor Management System (VMS).
- Manufacturing and supply of Concept Gate waist-high automatic smart gates with a servo-driven mechanism — 2 units;
- Manufacturing and supply of Half-Height Fencing for ACS and mechanical gates for emergency evacuation and access for visitors with reduced mobility;
- Implementation of the Visitor Management System (VMS).
