Kazan International School

The International School of Kazan is a private educational institution offering an international learning environment. The school combines Russian and international curricula, with educational facilities covering all age groups, from kindergarten through high school. The school operates across two campuses in Kazan, located on Khusain Mavlyutov Street and Fedoseevskaya Street.

A key feature of the facility is the wide range of user categories, each requiring different access scenarios: students of different ages, staff, parents, babysitters, drivers, individuals accompanying children, and family members of employees residing in the on-campus dormitory.

The campuses required a controlled access solution for the school grounds and parking areas, supporting multiple user identification methods, including facial biometrics, while accommodating different access scenarios for various user categories.

Infomatika was tasked with the following objectives:

• Provide controlled access to the campuses for students, staff, and various categories of visitors;
• Enable user identification using contactless cards, wristbands, and facial biometrics;
• Manage access based on predefined time schedules;
• Provide controlled vehicle access to the school grounds and parking areas using license plate recognition.

• Contour Bio Smart Turnstiles. Waist-high swing-gate smart turnstiles are installed at the Mavlyutov Street campus and equipped with built-in cameras for facial recognition. The equipment supports access using facial biometrics, contactless cards, and wristbands. A wider 900 mm passage is provided for visitors with reduced mobility and the transportation of bulky items.
• VisionLabs Access Control Terminals. Installed along the external perimeter of the Mavlyutov Street campus, the terminals provide access using contactless cards, wristbands, and facial biometrics. At the Fedoseevskaya Street campus, the terminals are used to identify staff, students, and accompanying persons via facial biometrics, contactless cards, and wristbands.
• Security Screening Equipment. Walk-through metal detectors and an X-ray inspection system are installed at the security checkpoint of the Mavlyutov Street campus. Students and staff pass through the metal detectors, while bags and backpacks are screened using the X-ray inspection system for prohibited items.
• Parking Access Control System. The parking area is equipped with automatic barriers and video cameras. Access to the parking area and the school grounds is granted only to vehicles whose license plate numbers are registered in the system database.

System Management Infrastructure

School access cards, wristbands, and biometric credentials are used for identification. Biometric identification is implemented using VisionLabs solutions.

The system provides statistics on the entry and exit times of each staff member and student and records access denial events when predefined time restrictions are violated — including attempts by students to leave the school grounds during class hours.
