Mendeleev’s Descendants Chemical and Technology Lyceum No. 3, Mendeleevsk
Equipping the educational institution with an access control and management system based on Contour Bio smart turnstiles.
Implemented in 2023
The Mendeleev’s Descendants Chemical and Technology Lyceum No. 3 is part of an educational cluster established to train future specialists in chemistry-related fields for Mendeleevsk and the Republic of Tatarstan. The Lyceum opened in 2023 with the support of Rais (Head) of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov. Its educational infrastructure includes modern learning spaces and specialized laboratories for advanced study of the natural sciences.
The Lyceum required a comprehensive security infrastructure providing controlled access to the building and video surveillance of both indoor areas and the surrounding grounds, supported by video analytics.
Infomatika was tasked with the following objectives:
- Provide controlled access to the Lyceum for students and staff using contactless access cards and facial biometrics;
- Implement video surveillance across the facility’s indoor areas and external perimeter, with video analytics capabilities;
- Enable facial recognition and smoke detection using the video surveillance system;
- Equip dedicated workstations for security system monitoring and control.
The project was implemented by Infomatika in collaboration with technology partners VisionLabs, ITV, and RUBEZH. The integrated solution includes Contour Bio smart turnstiles with biometric identification, indoor and outdoor video surveillance systems, server equipment, and automated staff workstations.
Key Project Components:
- Contour Bio Smart Turnstiles. Waist-high swing-gate smart turnstiles with built-in IP cameras for facial recognition provide controlled access to the Lyceum. Users are identified using facial biometrics or contactless access cards.
- Video Surveillance System. The building’s interior and external perimeter are equipped with ITV cameras: 30 cameras are installed indoors and 20 across the surrounding grounds. The system supports behavioral video analytics, facial recognition, and smoke detection, providing continuous monitoring of the building and adjacent areas.
- Half-Height Fencing for ACS. Defines access zones and guides users through the entrance control equipment.
System Management Infrastructure
Two automated security workstations and one video surveillance operator workstation were set up to monitor and control the security systems. The infrastructure also includes server equipment for the facial recognition and video surveillance systems.
Access control is provided using contactless access cards and facial biometric identification.
Scope of Work:
1. Detailed design and engineering;
2. Supply of equipment and software, including:
- Contour Bio smart turnstiles — 2 lanes (3 units), with facial recognition using built-in IP cameras;
- Half-Height Fencing for ACS;
- ITV video surveillance cameras — 20 outdoor and 30 indoor units;
- Automated workstations — 2 security workstations and 1 video surveillance operator workstation;
- Server equipment for the facial recognition and video surveillance systems;
3. Equipment installation and commissioning.
