Bionica Multidisciplinary Lyceum No. 188, Kazan
Implemented in 2021
The Bionica Multidisciplinary Lyceum No. 188 opened on September 1, 2021, in the Salavat Kupere residential district of Kazan. The new educational institution is designed to accommodate 1,224 students. The Lyceum’s facilities include a 456-seat school cafeteria, two swimming pools measuring 275 m² and 75 m², and a 560-seat auditorium.
Educational institutions in the Republic of Tatarstan use the School Card system, which is part of the comprehensive Electronic Education in the Republic of Tatarstan project. The card is used, among other purposes, for student identification and attendance tracking.
The new Lyceum required a modern access control system supporting both School Cards and facial biometric identification.Infomatika was tasked with the following objectives:
- Provide controlled access to the Lyceum for students and staff;
- Enable access using School Cards;
- Implement facial biometric identification.
Infomatika equipped the Lyceum with an access control and management system based on Contour Bio motorized waist-high smart turnstiles with built-in IP cameras for facial recognition. The project was implemented in collaboration with technology partner VisionLabs.
Key Project Components:
- Contour Bio Smart Turnstiles. Motorized waist-high swing-gate smart turnstiles with built-in IP cameras for facial recognition, providing access using facial biometrics or School Cards.
- UCM-1B.1 Turnstile Remote Control. Designed for manual control of passage through the turnstiles.
- UCM-2A Interface Converters.Used to integrate the access control equipment with the School Card system.
Integrations
The access control equipment is integrated with the VisionLabs facial recognition system and the School Card system. This enables two identification methods for access: facial biometrics and the School Card.
- Contour Bio smart turnstiles — 3 lanes (4 units);
- UCM-1B.1 Turnstile Remote Control for one lane;
- UCM-2A Interface Converters for integration with the School Card system.
