New Turnstiles in the Novosibirsk Metro

Infomatika continues to equip the Novosibirsk Metro: smart turnstile installation has been completed in entrance halls 1 and 2 at Oktyabrskaya station.

The turnstiles’ compact design made it possible to increase the number of passage lanes in each entrance hall from six to seven, boosting entrance throughput. The additional lanes help ease congestion during peak hours.

The smart turnstiles feature built-in readers for QR codes, bank cards, and transport cards. Color displays provide passenger information, while smart LED indicators show the direction of passage and whether access is permitted.

The devices are tailored to the Novosibirsk Metro’s requirements: alongside cashless payment methods, they continue to accept tokens.

The installation at Oktyabrskaya marks another stage in the modernization of the Novosibirsk Metro’s infrastructure. In 2025, Infomatika’s Contour EK smart turnstiles were installed in both entrance halls at Ploshchad Lenina station. As part of that project, the equipment was integrated with the existing fare collection system and adapted to work with SberTroika.

The Novosibirsk Metro plans to equip its remaining stations with modern fare collection turnstiles.
