LENTA Ticketing System for the New Ice Arena in Nizhny Novgorod

Infomatika has completed a comprehensive project to equip the new VOLGA Arena in Nizhny Novgorod with the LENTA automated ticketing and access control system. The solution automates ticket sales and visitor access control while enabling centralized management of the arena’s entrances.

On September 7, VOLGA Arena hosted its first official hockey game. The new venue was inaugurated with a Junior Hockey League matchup between Nizhny Novgorod’s Chaika and Kazan’s Irbis, attended by 3,500 spectators.

Visitor entry was managed by the LENTA automated ticketing and access control system implemented by Infomatika. During the arena’s first game, the system operated reliably and ensured smooth, uninterrupted access for spectators.

The LENTA automated ticketing and access control system covers the entire visitor journey, from purchasing a ticket to entering the stands. For the arena, it provides centralized sales and access management, real-time venue occupancy monitoring and flexible equipment configuration. For spectators, it means purchasing an electronic ticket online and passing through the turnstile quickly.

The system is built around Vector series smart turnstiles installed at the arena’s entrances. The equipment features card, barcode and QR code readers, IP cameras and displays showing access status.

Smart gates provide convenient access for visitors with reduced mobility and guests with strollers, while stewards can perform additional ticket checks using Lenta-TSD mobile terminals.

VOLGA Arena has a capacity of 12,000 spectators and has become the new home venue of Torpedo Hockey Club. The complex’s architectural and technological concept allows the space to be transformed for various sporting competitions, concerts, exhibitions, forums and other large-scale events. The new arena is set to host KHL games as well as major sporting and cultural events.
