The V. M. Bobrov CSKA Ice Palace is a sports complex in Moscow with a capacity of 5,500 spectators. At the time of project implementation, it was the home venue of CSKA Hockey Club. The palace hosted Kontinental Hockey League and Junior Hockey League matches, as well as training sessions for CSKA’s first team, the Krasnaya Armiya junior team, and the youth hockey school.

The palace’s ticketing and access control infrastructure required modernization to improve spectator comfort and safety, enhance ticketing services, and make hockey tickets more accessible. Particular attention was paid to expanding online sales, organizing access control, and transitioning to a unified club ticketing system.

Infomatika was responsible for the following tasks:

  • Automate ticket and season pass sales for CSKA Hockey Club matches;
  • Provide spectator access control using turnstiles and mobile readers;
  • Enable video identification at entrance areas;
  • Enable ticket sales through the palace’s box offices, the club’s online store, and external sales channels;
  • Migrate existing season passes from the previous ticketing system;
  • Set up staff workstations for ticket sales, system management, and ticket dispute resolution.

Infomatika implemented the LENTA automated ticketing and access control system, automating ticketing services and spectator admission. The solution enabled a shared ticket inventory to be sold through the Ice Palace’s box offices, CSKA Hockey Club’s online store, and the Rambler-Kassa ticketing operator without allocating ticket quotas to individual sales channels in advance.

Key Project Components

  • LENTA Automated Ticketing and Access Control System. Automates ticket and season pass sales, manages a unified ticket inventory, and provides spectator access control.
  • Horizon Waist-Height Turnstiles. Provide controlled spectator access at the palace’s entrances.
  • Pedestal-Type Waist-Height Swing Turnstiles. Provide additional controlled passage lanes.
  • LENTA Linea Pro NFC Mobile Readers. Validate tickets using barcodes and contactless cards at access control points.
  • Video Identification System. Identifies spectators as they pass through entrance areas.
  • CSKA Hockey Club Online Ticket Store. Enables online ticket sales for hockey matches.

Integration

Existing season passes were imported from the previous ticketing system into LENTA.

The ticketing system also enabled sales through multiple channels: the CSKA Ice Palace box offices, the club’s online store, and the Rambler-Kassa website. The solution supported the addition of further sales channels, including city ticket offices, ticketing operators, third-party websites, and mobile applications.

System Management Infrastructure

Server equipment was supplied to support the ticketing and access control system. Nine automated staff workstations were set up: 4 cashier workstations, 3 manager workstations, and 2 ticket resolution team workstations.

A Wi-Fi data network was also installed at the complex’s entrance areas.
